We are seeking an experienced Commercial Advisor (Claims and Risk) to provide specialist commercial and contractual support on a major infrastructure program. This role will focus on the proactive management of claims, contractual entitlement, delay events, commercial risk and dispute avoidance, helping to minimise exposure to time and cost impacts while supporting successful project delivery. This will be a 16-month contract based on-site in Brisbane.


RequirementsWhat You'll Do
  • Lead the assessment and management of contractor delay notices, EOT claims and cost claims under the DBM contract.
  • Analyse entitlement, causation and quantum to support robust commercial decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain contemporaneous records and contractual positions that protect TMR's interests.
  • Provide proactive advice on emerging commercial, schedule and cost risks across the program.
  • Support the development of commercial strategies, negotiation positions and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Prepare position papers, commercial briefings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with planning, engineering, interface and delivery teams to align project outcomes with contractual obligations.
  • Support the resolution of complex commercial and contractual issues across a major rail program.
  • Contribute to dispute avoidance and improved commercial outcomes through early intervention and strategic advice.
  • Undertake periodic site visits to Ormeau and Torbanlea to support program delivery.
What You'll Bring
  • Degree qualifications in Business, Law, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience providing commercial advice on major rail infrastructure projects in Australia.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience on a major rollingstock delivery project.
  • Demonstrated expertise in claims management, EOT assessments and commercial risk management.
  • Strong understanding of contractual entitlement, causation and quantum analysis.
  • Experience supporting government or major infrastructure clients in managing commercial risk and liability exposure.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to identifying and managing commercial issues.
  • Ability to commence full-time from August 2026 and contribute within a fast-paced program environment.

Skills Required
