As Commercial Accountant you will play a key role in analysing, managing and forecasting the financial performance of the business, working with key stakeholders to drive profitability and efficiencies. Your role will support the Senior Commercial Accountant and Finance Director to manage the increasing demands of a growing, ambitious and data-driven company. Finance business partnering with key stakeholders and budget holders across the business, forecasting financial performance throughout the month in real-time, offering valuable commentary on financial performance and making appropriate recommendations to drive growth and profitability. Deliver ad-hoc request for scoping and modelling new projects and initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsibility for designing and updating detailed financial models to accurately forecast business performance throughout, commentating variance analysis to budget holders
- Driving continuous improvements in reporting, analysing and forecasting business performance
- Comprehensive understanding and tracking of the key drivers within the business in terms of behaviour and impact
- Identifying and investigating trends and offering recommendations to key stakeholders in order to drive growth and profitability in real-time for maximum reward
- Assisting with commercial tenders and other requests for new projects and initiatives, ensuring activities are fully scoped, modelled appropriately and all costs are considered and captured
- Building working relationships throughout the group with great exposure to the Senior Leadership Team
- Supporting the Senior Commercial Accountant and Finance Director where necessary
Requirements
- Advanced/fluent excel skills
- Qualified/part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or demonstrable QBE
- Performing in a high-pressured environment, delivering against tight deadlines
- Working within company and ethical rules and regulations
- Manipulating and analysing large data sets
- Communicating financial information to a range of stakeholders
- Commercially driven with the ability to guide and support strategic decision-making through analysing data
- Innovative and inventive – finding creative solutions to problem solving through data, research and experience
- Able to proactively take the initiative and anticipate future needs and act independently to find solutions or achieve goals before being prompted
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to prioritise and organise work based on deadlines and importance
- Diligence to ensure work is completed to the highest standard; accurately and efficiently
- Confident in own abilities but prepared to listen to, and learn from, managers and colleagues with more experience
