As the Commercial Sales Account Executive, you will represent the Johnson Controls Security brand in your territory and help customers find the right solutions to support safety, retention, and growth.
Role OverviewThis role is responsible for generating new business, expanding existing commercial accounts, and supporting renewals within an assigned territory. Success comes from disciplined territory management, strong customer relationships, and a thorough understanding of the Johnson Controls Security product and service portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and sell Johnson Controls Security services and technology within an assigned territory.
- Create new market share by developing local commercial customers and closing new business.
- Expand existing accounts through add-ons, amendments, conversions, upgrades, and renewals.
- Identify and pursue resale opportunities while maintaining productive relationships with current customers.
- Use creative lead-generating techniques to identify prospects and build a strong pipeline.
- Establish call plans, follow-up strategies, and effective territory management practices.
- Obtain referrals and work with Centers of Influence to support business development.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the full product line, services, customer issues, and needs.
- Process work orders and complete required paperwork in accordance with approved procedures.
- Conduct post-installation follow-up to confirm commitments were met and customer satisfaction remains strong.
- Represent Johnson Controls Security professionally and follow company policies, procedures, products, programs, and services in every customer interaction.
- Own your territory with accountability, integrity, and discipline by managing commitments, follow-up, and pipeline activity from first contact through post-installation support.
- Focus on what matters to the customer by listening closely, understanding their business needs, and guiding them toward the right solution.
- Improve every day by building product knowledge through training, research, reading, and real customer conversations.
- Win as one team by working closely with internal partners, customers, and Centers of Influence to move opportunities forward.
- Use structured call plans and time management habits to stay consistent across prospecting, customer follow-up, and closing activity.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
