Adyen’s Commercial Academy

The primary goal of the Commercial Academy is to drive commercial growth through our training programs and other initiatives, in a scalable way. We are a community driven Academy, working very closely with our commercial team to ensure relevance and top quality. We train hand-in-hand with our successful commercial teammates to allow for effective experiential learning. While we are expanding our learning offering, we’re always looking to further advance our continuous learning strategies. 

What you’ll do

The core part of the role is to run Commercial Academy (blended) training programs, both in person and online. 

  • Delivering our current programs on Adyen commercial skills, e.g. pitching, negotiating, qualifying.
  • Designing challenging new programs and sessions for our global commercial audiences, ensuring business impact. 
  • Collaborating closely with the commercial (leadership) team, to align and co-create with them, but also to include them in our training programs. According to our training model we include great performers in our training to leverage their skills to the whole team.
  • The other part of your role is to lead global and regional projects to improve and innovate our blended commercial learning offer and the way we work.

Who you are

  • You have a minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and delivering commercial training programs. You have a vision on how to get commercial people excited and help them grow with blended learning strategies - and are able to execute on this vision effectively, while maintaining speed. 
  • You love to facilitate training sessions, both in person and online. You have an inspiring presence. You’re able to ‘control the room’ without taking the whole stage for yourself, challenging your commercial audience in a constructive way to help them grow.
  • Experience in a commercial, client-facing role is strongly preferred, because we need you to have a deep understanding of your crowd and what it takes to be effective in such a role.
  • You are a great communicator with both the written and spoken word (especially towards commercial people): to the point, impactful and people-oriented.
  • Fluency in English is required since this is the default language globally at Adyen. 

Since you will be representing the Commercial Academy, you’ll need:

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills: regionally, culturally and up to leadership level.
  • Execution power: the maturity and confidence to assess critically and make decisions for the programs you’ll own, and the ‘roll up your sleeves’-mentality to get things done autonomously.

This role is based in our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.

Since you are part of the global Commercial Academy team, this role requires traveling globally for about 10-20% of your time. Occasionally, there may be meetings scheduled outside of regular hours to accommodate different time zones.
