Your Responsibilities
As a Combustion Development Engineer for JD Waterloo Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will d esign, develop, and execute test plans to thoroughly evaluate combustion system performance. In addition, you will:

• Independently analyze test data, lead discussions, report conclusions, and recommended course of action to working groups and manager.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with test cell operators, lab supervisors and other functional groups (aftertreatment, controls, fuel systems, air systems, and simulation) to accomplish tasks and work through obstacles.
• Document project results including trade-off analysis, processes, conclusions and system requirements.

What Skills You Need

• 2 or more years of experience in engine performance development, testing, and troubleshooting
• 2 or more years of experience in applying diesel engine emissions control technologies to meet emissions regulations
• Demonstrated skills in data analysis and decision making
• Demonstrated skills in technical communication

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience in combustion system research and development
• Experience in using combustion system instrumentation setup, data acquisition, and analysis
• Experience with physical engine testing using dynamometer
• Basic understanding of diesel aftertreatment systems and their interaction with engine performance

Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Agricultural, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
