Mission Graduates increases the number of K-12 students in San Francisco's Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education. We work towards fulfilling our mission through a wide range of after-school support services that serve over 1,500 children, youth and families each year. Desired Qualifications:
- Passionate about supporting young first-generation students to achieve the necessary Math skills to succeed in college
- Comfortable with High School level Math (see below)
- Willing to participate in the Volunteer Orientation with dates TBD. The mentor/mentee program will begin In January of 2023 and run until May 2023.
- Able to commit to at least one hour per week to meet with an individual student for the academic spring semester.
- Able to provide or obtain proof of a negative TB test from within the past four years
Tutor must be comfortable with:
- Statistics, AP Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus.
- Basic Algebra skills: positive/negative numbers, fractions, rules of exponents, inequalities, parallel lines & system of equations.
- Algebra II skills: function of a function (Linear Algebra - Composite functions), log and natural log, asymptote of a function & vertex and roots of quadratic function.
Impact Gen: Monday, March 4th st - May 8th 1 once a week for an hour remotely First meeting on March 18th
Skills Required
- Passion for supporting first-generation students
- Comfortable with high-school level math
- Comfortable with Statistics and AP Statistics

- Comfortable with Basic Algebra (signed numbers, fractions, exponents, inequalities, systems)
- Comfortable with Algebra II topics (composite functions, logs, asymptotes, quadratic vertex/roots)
