ABOUT THE POSITION:
The College and Career Readiness Associate is responsible for meticulous administrative tasks, including record-keeping, database management, and executing Career Readiness events. They play a crucial role in training and coaching, offering Career Readiness guidance, mentoring students, and supervising the HiRisers after school/recess programs. Collaborative work with the HiRisers Site Team is essential to evaluate and support youth staff and participants. This role actively engages with families, keeping them updated on student progress, and manages sessions by setting clear expectations, ensuring student engagement, and maintaining classroom routines.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Urban Dove Team Charter School (UD Team) is a distinctive network of sports-based high schools catering to over-aged, under-credited youth. We fuse a robust academic curriculum with sports-based youth development, ensuring our graduates receive a diploma, a stepping stone for higher education, and essential job skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and maintain partnerships with workforce programs and educational institutions.
  • Support the development and facilitation of workshops for College and Career exploration, post-secondary readiness, and other skills that prepare students for success beyond high school.
  • Support and attend CCR events and work-based learning experiences, including but not limited to college and career fairs, team building retreats, and overnight camps.
  • Provide individualized career coaching and guidance to a caseload of students, supporting them with college and career exploration.
  • Support student progress toward post-secondary goals, identifying barriers and coordinating appropriate interventions, resources, and supports to help students successfully engage in and complete CCR opportunities.
  • Mentor a designated group of students.
  • Monitor student transitions, arrivals, dismissals, lunch, and other assigned school responsibilities while maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
  • Work closely with the CCR department, and collaborate with other school-based staff to coordinate services and deliver comprehensive, wraparound support for students and their families.
  • Collaborate with students and families to support successful transitions from high school into employment, internships, apprenticeships, career training, certification programs, military service, or other postsecondary career pathways.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in student information systems and career readiness platforms. 
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, grant requirements, and applicable state and city regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
  • Driver’s license preferred
  • Be highly organized, responsible and positive role model for teenagers
  • Demonstrated ability to “multi-task” and deliver high quality work
  • Experience in college access/retention programs preferred, especially counseling on post-secondary options
  • Knowledge of U.S. higher education preferred, particularly NYC/State, financial aid, and college application processes.
  • Commitment to the Urban Dove mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication 
  • Commitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issues
  • Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently 
  • Must be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a passion for serving at-risk youth
  • Ability to actively engage with students and move throughout the school as needed.
  • Ability to navigate stairs and assist with setup or materials as required. Accommodations available per ADA.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Compensation: $50,000 to  $56,160 annually based on years of experience and education.
