Summary
The Collateral Release Specialist is responsible for managing the release of collateral for paid in full loans and refinances in accordance with bank policies, regulatory requirements and client service standards. This role ensures timely, accurate processing of lien releases for all types of collateral while minimizing operational and compliance risks.
The Booking Quality Control Specialist is responsible for reviewing, validating, and ensuring the accuracy of the loan data entered into the banks core system. This role plays a critical part in maintaining data integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency by identifying errors, inconsistencies, and missing information in loan records.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collateral Releases:
- Prepare and process lien & title releases and other collateral release documents for Mortgage, Installment and RVC loans in a timely manner
- Review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission or filing.
- Prepare lien release affidavits as needed
- Research and resolve exceptions, discrepancies and customer inquiries regarding collateral release status
- Adhere to federal, state and local regulations as well as internal controls & procedures related to collateral releases
- Writing, updating and testing procedures as needed
- Quality Control:
- Review loan data entered in the core system for Mortgage, Installment and RVC loans. Ensure for completeness, accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Identify and document data entry errors or missing data in fields
- Communicate findings to relevant team members
- Maintain records of quality control reviews, including trends & recurring issues
- Recommend process improvements to reduce errors and improve efficiency
- Writing, updating and testing procedures as needed
- Stay informed on company policies, industry regulations and system updates that may affect loan data input
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities preferred for this position:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Understanding of CSI (or other bank host system) and how it works with the Loans System
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external customers
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in loan servicing, quality control or related financial services role.
- Loan Documentation knowledge is preferred.
Work Environment:
Office based - Moderate noise (Examples: business office with computers, printers, and light traffic) and moderate amount of background conversations between coworkers or by coworkers on the telephone
