Your Role
Based in our Brisbane HQ and reporting to a Senior Finance Manager, this Senior Financial Accountant role is a critical position within the global finance team, with an initial focus on cost of sales. You will be accountable for the accurate and timely delivery of financial results across assigned areas and for supporting consistent global accounting practices.

The role combines hands-on technical accounting with responsibility for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day activities, including working closely with Brisbane-based team members and offshore finance teams. You will partner with the business and actively drive process improvements to strengthen controls and prevent recurring issues.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, experience in a technology or data centre environment, and a team-first approach, with the flexibility to adapt as business priorities evolve.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial results across assigned areas, with an initial focus on direct network costs (COGS) and leases
  • Apply sound judgement to accruals and estimates, including materiality thresholds, while proactively identifying and resolving underlying data or invoicing issues
  • Own the application of relevant accounting standards, including IFRS 16, ensuring accounting outcomes reflect contractual and operational reality
  • Lead and support junior team members, providing direction, review, and coaching while remaining hands-on in the underlying data and analysis
  • Complete month-end close activities, including journals, analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business to ensure complete, consistent, and compliant financial outcomes
  • Drive improvements in data quality, Excel models, and end-to-end processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability
  • Provide clear analysis and support for management reporting, audits, and ad-hoc finance initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  • CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian and international accounting standards, including practical application of IFRS 16
  • Experience supporting or leading junior team members; exposure to distributed teams is beneficial
  • Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and improve finance processes
  • Experience in a technology or data-centre environment
  • Able to manage competing priorities with a high level of attention to detail
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Brisbane-based
