Cognos TM1 Administrator with Tableau

We are looking for a Cognos TM1 Administrator with Tableau experience to manage, administer, and support IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) environments, along with building and supporting dashboards and reports using Tableau. The candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, performance tuning knowledge, and experience working with business stakeholders.

• Administer and support IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics environments.

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain TM1 servers (DEV/QA/PROD).

• Monitor TM1 services, user access, security, and system performance.

• Perform backup/recovery, patching, server health checks, and system tuning.

• Troubleshoot TM1 issues related to cubes, processes, feeders, rules, and permissions.

• Support TM1 model deployments and production releases.

• Work closely with finance/business teams for planning, budgeting, and forecasting support.

• Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports based on business requirements.

• Ensure Tableau data sources are optimized and refreshed as per schedule.

• Document operational procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

• Strong experience as Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics Administrator.

• Good knowledge of:

  • TM1 Architecture

  • Security (users, groups, permissions)

  • Performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting

  • Backup and restore strategies

• Experience with Tableau development/admin support.

• Understanding of data integration and ETL concepts.

• Strong communication and stakeholder handling skills.

• Experience with PAW (Planning Analytics Workspace).

• Experience in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.).

• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases.
