Cognos Senior Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cognos Senior Architect to lead the design, deployment, optimization, and modernization of IBM Cognos BI solutions. The role involves defining BI architecture, managing end-to-end deployments, driving platform upgrades, and leading Cognos-to-Power BI migration initiatives. The ideal candidate should have experience supporting Model N Flex applications and developing reporting and analytics solutions for Commercial Contracting and Government Pricing functions within the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Define and implement Cognos BI architecture, standards, and best practices.
   
2. Design and optimize Framework Manager models, Transformer Cubes, reports, dashboards, schedules, bursting, and event-driven reporting.
   
3. Lead Cognos platform administration, upgrades, security, and performance tuning.
   
4. Manage end-to-end deployment and release activities across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
   
5. Drive Cognos modernization and Cognos-to-Power BI migration initiatives.
   
6. Develop and support Model N Flex Reporting & Analytics solutions using IBM Cognos.
   
7. Design and maintain reports and dashboards for Commercial Contracting, Chargebacks, Rebates, Membership, Sales Analytics, and Government Pricing business processes.
   
8. Develop reporting solutions for AMP, Best Price, Medicaid, Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), 340B, and other Government Pricing programs.
   
9. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting solutions.
   
10. Provide technical leadership, governance, and mentoring to development teams.
    

Required Skills

1. Strong expertise in IBM Cognos Analytics, Framework Manager, Reporting, Administration, Scheduling, and Bursting.
   
2. Hands-on experience in Cognos content deployment, migration, release management, and production support.
   
3. Strong SQL, Data Warehousing, ETL, and Dimensional Modeling skills.
   
4. Experience in Cognos performance tuning, security, and platform optimization.
   
5. Hands-on experience with Model N Flex Applications and Cognos-based reporting solutions.
   
6. Strong understanding of Commercial Contract Management, Chargebacks, Rebates, Membership, Sales Operations, and Government Pricing reporting processes.
   
7. Experience developing complex reports and analytics for AMP, Best Price, Medicaid, FSS, and other Managed Markets reporting requirements.
   
8. Exposure to Cognos-to-Power BI migration projects preferred.
   
9. Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
   

Preferred Industry Experience

• Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences domain experience.
  
• Experience supporting Managed Markets, Commercial Operations, and Government Pricing Analytics using Model N Flex and Cognos Reporting.
  
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Government Pricing, Contracting, Revenue Management, and Commercial Analytics stakeholders.
