Cognos Developer

OZ Digital Consulting is seeking a skilled Cognos Developer to support enterprise business intelligence solutions for one of our key insurance clients. The consultant will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos Analytics. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective reporting solutions. This remote contract role is open to consultants based in Latin America or Albania.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and understand their information needs.
• Design and develop interactive reports, dashboards, and scorecards using IBM Cognos Analytics.
• Create and manage data models and metadata layers to support accurate reporting.
• Optimize reports for performance and user experience.
• Implement data security measures to ensure compliance with data governance policies.
• Maintain and enhance existing Cognos solutions in response to changing business requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to reporting, data accuracy, and performance.
• Provide ongoing support and training for end-users in leveraging Cognos solutions effectively.
• Stay updated with the latest features and best practices in IBM Cognos Analytics.

• Proven experience as a Cognos Developer with a strong understanding of BI concepts and best practices.
• 5+ years of experience working with IBM Cognos Analytics, including Report Studio and Framework Manager.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes is a plus.
• Ability to create visually appealing and informative reports and dashboards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning.

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in IBM Cognos Analytics or business intelligence are a plus.
• Experience with other BI tools or technologies is advantageous.
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and collaborative environments.
