Duties and Tasks:
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, tea, smoothies, and other specialty drinks according to standardized recipes.
- Prepare and serve food items while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and accurately process cash, credit card, and mobile transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service counters, equipment, and workstations throughout each shift.
- Restock food, beverages, paper products, and supplies as needed.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Maintain proper product rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Monitor product quality and report maintenance or equipment concerns to management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations during peak business periods.
- Promote a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all guests.
- Additional work-related requests as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and dependability.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn coffee preparation techniques and campus procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service, restaurant, café, or food service experience preferred but not required.
- Barista experience is preferred but training will be provided.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special campus events as scheduled.
Physical Demands:
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, walking, standing, lifting, and carrying supplies weighing 50 pounds or less.
