The purpose of this position is to provide ongoing education to providers, coders and others. To identify and recommend systems and tools to encourage and support providers in effective coding and billing.  Onboarding new providers and helping to train new coders to the most recent and up to date coding guidelines in their respective specialties. Monitor coding and documentation for each provider through yearly audits.  Monitor coding accuracy through audits performed twice a year.  Regularly meet with and communicate findings to providers and coders. Develop practice-wide coding guidelines, and develop curriculum for training providers, staff and other constituents. Research coding issues as needed. 

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provide ongoing education to provider, coders and others as needed. 
  2. Identify and recommend systems and tools to encourage and support providers and coders in effective coding and billing. 
  3. Onboarding new providers in their respective specialties.
  4. Helping train new coders in their respective specialties. 
  5. Researching and answering coding questions related to assigned specialties. 
  6. Communicate regularly with leadership.
  7. Keep up to date on provider and coder audits.

Compensation:
Hourly Wage Range: $31.95 - $43.55. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.


Shifts 
80 hours biweekly, Day shifts, Monday to Friday. Candidates can be fully remote or on-site.

Qualifications

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.

  1. Education/Special Skills:  Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.  Proven ability in education and training.  Strong analytical skills and computer experience, including windows software and excel.  Must be able to multitask and manage time well.  Must be able to meet deadlines on project given. Must have the ability to think critically and independently research issues and or topics as they arise. 
  2. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
  3. Must be able to attend the work as scheduled.
  4. Licensure/Certification: Physician office coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) preferred.
  5. Work Experience: Five plus years related health care experience.  Expertise in CPT and ICD-10 coding, third party payor guidelines, and clinical documentation knowledge.    
  6. Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both orally and in writing.
