We are hiring for a Coding & Documentation Education Specialist! This position requires strong expertise in CPT and ICD coding, clinical documentation, and revenue integrity. Ideal candidates bring excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to educate and collaborate with providers and clinical leaders.

What’s Available:

• Starting salary of $61,152 annually + more for experience!
• Full‑time position, 1.0 FTE (40 hours weekly)
• Day shift, Monday–Friday
• Department: Mid‑Revenue Cycle
• Location: Remote Eligible - On-site training in La Crosse, WI for first day orientation

What you will do:

• Deliver ICD‑10, CPT, charge capture, and documentation education to providers and clinical leaders to ensure compliance with payer regulations.
• Conduct documentation and coding quality reviews, analyze performance trends, and provide feedback to support accurate and optimized reimbursement.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert in CPT, HCPCS, ICD‑10, and payer policies, partnering with Revenue Cycle, CDI, and Compliance teams.
• Respond to consultation requests by analyzing documentation, coding, billing, and denials trends and providing recommendations.
• Communicate complex information clearly through written reports, presentations, and provider education sessions.

What you need:

• Associate degree in Healthcare Business Services, Health Information Technology, or related degree or equivalent years of coder experience and education
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare coding, billing, insurance follow-up or reimbursement
• One of the following certifications:
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
  • Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based (CCS‑P)
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS)
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
• Valid driver’s license
