What the role is about
Our client is a US-based company providing market-leading software (SaaS or On-Premise) and
services (BPaaS) for Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid Plans. The solutions are
designed to streamline operations and improve efficiencies for health insurance companies.
Requirements:
● Proficiency in COBOL for legacy code maintenance
● At least 3-5 years of relevant experience[1] (Middle)
● At least 1-2 years of relevant experience[2] (Junior)
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
● English - at least B2 level
Nice-to-have skills:
● Experience with or willingness to learn Java is a plus;
● Familiarity with frontend technologies, specifically Angular is a plus;
Responsibilities:
● Maintain and enhance existing COBOL-based systems.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver
solutions.
● Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to legacy systems.
● Assist in the gradual migration of COBOL code to Java-based solutions.
● Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of internal
processes.
● Document technical specifications and maintain up-to-date records of system
changes.
