Summary: Applies gelcoat to the mold using an atomized spray gun process system.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Must possess the ability to use and understand air assisted gelcoat equipment.

· Ability to calibrate and apply gelcoat consistent with Cobalt quality.

· Read and understand work orders then apply gelcoat on parts based on production order specifications.

· Maintain gelcoat equipment by performing periodic and routine maintenance of equipment.

· Assist in manually moving molds in and out of the gelcoat booths.

· General housekeeping of area and equipment.

· Assists in changing out 55-gallon drums and 5-gallon pails of material at gel pumps.

· Must demonstrate the ability to make sound quality decisions independently.

· Other duties as required.

· Good knowledge and understanding of gelcoat processes as they relate to the nature of the Cobalt product and customer expectation

· Must be able to understand and execute top quality expectations

· Job requires standing and working in and around boat/molds throughout the entire day

· Must work efficiently and in the safest manner possible, following all safety regulations at all time

· Ability to read and understand uses of a mil gauge


Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, and to effectively communicate with management and subordinates. The ability to communicate effectively is a key element to achieve success in this position.


Mathematical Skills

General math skills required.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Safety glasses must be worn always.

Respirator protection required.

Tyvex covering required.

Chemical resistant gloves required when handling chemicals.

Typical 10-hour workdays, frequent overtime required.

Annual Pulmonary Function Testing – Medical Clearance to wear a Respirator

Annual Fit Testing – Testing of the Respirator to ensure it fits safety and securely.
