Markon is seeking a CNO Developer to support the Fort Meade customer by designing, developing, and enhancing advanced cyber capabilities that support Computer Network Operations (CNO). This role applies software engineering, reverse engineering, vulnerability research, and exploit development techniques to analyze complex software, operating systems, embedded devices, and network protocols. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, the CNO Developer develops innovative mission capabilities that support evolving Intelligence Community cyber operations.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain software supporting Computer Network Operations (CNO) missions.
  • Perform reverse engineering of software, firmware, operating systems, and embedded devices to identify vulnerabilities and understand system behavior.
  • Conduct vulnerability research and develop proof-of-concept capabilities supporting operational mission requirements.
  • Develop software using Assembly, C, C++, Python, and related programming languages.
  • Analyze Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, and other operating system internals to support capability development.
  • Develop and enhance capabilities targeting multiple processor architectures, including x86, x64, ARM, MIPS, PPC, SPARC, and similar platforms.
  • Utilize reverse engineering and debugging tools such as IDA Pro, Hex-Rays, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, GDB, and WinDbg to analyze complex software systems.
  • Research exploit mitigation technologies, including DEP and ASLR, and develop techniques to evaluate system security.
  • Analyze network protocols, TCP/IP communications, routing protocols, RF communications, and related technologies to support cyber operations.
  • Develop embedded software capabilities and support hardware analysis using interfaces such as JTAG or BDI.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate, test, and deploy mission capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and engineering guidance to support mission success.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI W/ Polygraph through this Customer
  • Bachelor's degree and the required years of experience developing software for Computer Network Operations or related cyber missions.
  • Experience programming in Assembly, C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience performing reverse engineering and vulnerability research.
  • Understanding of Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, or other operating system internals.
  • Experience reading or writing assembly language across one or more processor architectures, including x86, x64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, SPARC, or similar architectures.
  • Experience developing embedded systems.
  • Understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, RF communications, or related technologies.
  • Experience using reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Hex-Rays, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, or objdump.
  • Experience using debugging tools such as GDB, WinDbg, or OllyDbg.
  • Understanding of exploit mitigation technologies, including DEP and ASLR.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience developing tools to identify, exploit, and operationalize vulnerabilities in complex software systems.
  • Experience with hardware debugging interfaces such as JTAG or BDI.
  • Experience with modern C++ development, including RAII, C++11, and C++14.
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense cyber operations.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
Salary RangeUSD $145,000.00 - USD $240,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
