What you’ll do
- CNC Machining: Efficiently operate CNC turning centers or swiss lathe such as Citizen, Star, or Tsugami for precision small-part machining.
- CNC Setup and Operation: Follow a setup sheet or look at a program on CAM and set up a job.
- Evaluate a part and come up with a plan to effectively make it.
- Inspecting your work and adjusting tool and machine offsets to make sure the parts are correct.
- Cutting tool and toolpath knowledge: You may be given the opportunity to push the limits of current cutting tool technology.
What you need to thrive in this role
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience operating and setting up CNC Lathes (Citizen, Star, or Tsugami)
- CNC Programming experience preferred (BUT NOT NECESSARY).
- Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing with profile tolerancing preferred.
- Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to anticipate, think ahead and plan.
- Ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills.
