PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Develop, program, evaluate, troubleshoot, and recommend CNC machine tools, utilizing personal computers, CAM software, and DNC systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop efficient CNC programs and related materials using tool drawings, fixture drawings, part prints, and associated documents.
- Work with operators, lead people, supervisors, manufacturing engineers, and other internal and external resources to optimize old and new processes and assist in training of these processes.
- Recommend new or revised tooling, fixtures, equipment, software, and process improvements to support efficient operations.
- Conduct special studies, assist with capital research, serve on special teams, and provide support for Statistical Process Control (SPC) or other quality initiatives as required.
- Proactively communicate operations, problems, and opportunities as they arise.
- Take positive action to advance personal knowledge of manufacturing technology, CNC programming, CAM software, DNC technology, and related information.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation to assist in the control and evaluation of programming operations.
- Assist in the development of a safe working environment through the use of occupational safety and health standards, including ergonomic principles.
- Other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Automation, or related AA or AS degree preferred.
- Training or experience working with CAM software required; EdgeCam preferred.
- Varied CNC operating experience desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
- Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
- Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
