Independence Tooling is actively seeking a CNC Programmer to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Review and interpret 3D CAD models to determine machining strategy, tool paths, and material removal processes.
  • Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and other machining operations using CAM software.
  • Determine machining sequences, tooling requirements, fixtures, and cutting parameters to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
  • Convert engineering and design specifications into Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programs.
  • Perform calculations to establish proper speeds, feeds, and cutting paths to maximize efficiency and maintain tight tolerances.
  • Test, validate, and revise CNC programs as needed to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and ensure production accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 3 plus years of experience with CNC programming
  • Programming experience in WorkNC, Mastercam, PowerMill, or NX CAM
  • Familiar with the 3 and 5 Axis modules as well
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Fidia or Heidenhain  controllers
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and 3D CAD models
  • Knowledge of CNC milling and/pr turning processes, tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive or defense is a plus
