Our Operations team in Cedar Falls, IA, is looking for experienced Machinists to work across the manufacturing processes to produce pumps with attention to safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Jobs are filled on a seniority basis; specific job assignments may vary depending on position availability.
Minimum starting pay $30.96 - $32.24, depending on specific job assignment, plus $1 per hour shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shift positions. Wage adjustments every 90 days, and all benefits begin effective after 60 days.
First Shift: 6:45 am - 2:45 pm
Second Shift: 2:45 pm - 10:45 pm
Third Shift: 10:45 pm - 6:45 am
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate any/all of the following: Manual Lathe, Manual Mill, NC Lathe, NC Mill, Machine Cells, Fork Truck, Stand Up Truck, hand tools, or other miscellaneous equipment required by the manufacturing process.
- Execute operational details from drawings, routing sheets, set up sheets, CNC programs, and standard work instructions.
- Check the condition of tooling/performance for best results.
- Follow the documented safety guidelines and procedures.
- Adhere to quality expectations.
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate Degree or CNC machining (metal products) technical certificate preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in industrial manufacturing environment required.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Properly align, secure and remove part fixtures, attachments and materials onto machines.
- Check machined parts to print with designated measuring devices such as micrometers, CMM, manual/digital calipers, plug gauges, indicators, or equivalent tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand for extended periods of time up to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and up to 70 pounds on a periodic basis.
- Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard.
- Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
- Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
- General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
- Exposed to any number of elements, but none continuously present to the extent of being disagreeable.
