Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, 5‑Axis Mills, and manual machines
- Produce high‑quality parts that meet or exceed shop quality standards
- Read and interpret prints; program using CAM systems, conversational controls, and/or G‑code
- Complete daily job requisitions and meet established time standards
- Use priority lists to plan and organize daily workload
- Collaborate with programmers, estimators, and other machinists to improve processes
- Recommend tooling and work-holding improvements
- Maintain clean, safe, well‑organized work area following shop standards
- Monitor and perform routine machine maintenance
- Assist with raw material loading/unloading and inventory needs
- Train or assist other machinists when needed
- Support machine assembly when assigned
- Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications
- 5+ years CNC machine setup and operation experience
- 2+ years programming experience (CAM, conversational, and/or G‑code)
- 5‑Axis programming experience preferred
- Two‑year machining degree or 5+ years industry experience
- Strong math skills with ability to convert metric/standard
- Proficient with prints, tooling, machining methods, and precision measuring tools

- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues, especially on mills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Independent worker who maintains accuracy with minimal supervision
- Positive attitude in fast‑paced or challenging situations
Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk for most of the workday
- Lift 40 lbs regularly; up to 75 lbs with assistance
Work Environment
- Machine shop and assembly floor environment with exposure to tools, noise, dust, metals, chemicals, and temperature variations
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay: $30–$40/hour
- Shift premiums:
- 2nd shift: +$4/hour
- Weekend shift: +$10/hour
- $12,000 sign-on bonus available for CNC Machinist II
