Job Summary:
The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating both conventional and CNC machines to produce metal and non-metal parts according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints, sketches, and manuals to understand part specifications and machining steps.
- Measure and mark materials to prepare for machining.
- Set up machines with the correct tools, fixtures, and materials.
- Adjust machine settings like speed, feed, and depth of cut.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to ensure quality.
- Inspect finished parts to confirm they meet specifications.
- Perform test runs to ensure machine settings are correct.
- Replace and install parts in machines or equipment, then test for proper function.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production staff to solve issues.
- Follow all quality standards related to KMT Waterjet's QMS and ISO requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education/Training:
- GED or High School diploma
- 2 year of related experience preferred
