About the role Job SummaryThe Lead Machinery Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment, while also supervising and guiding a team of mechanics. This role ensures operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
This job profile is intended for professional-level staff that works autonomously and may coordinate the activities of other professional-level staff, especially in non-routine situations.
This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery.
Diagnose mechanical issues and implement repairs.
Lead and train junior mechanics.
Maintain maintenance logs and documentation.
Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Support continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
Skills & Qualifications
Typically requires advanced vocational training (or equivalent experience) and several years of relevant work experience to carry out the role.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with industrial machinery and tools.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
Leadership and coordination abilities.
Knowledge of safety and maintenance standards.
