CNC MACHINIST

SUMMARY:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating a range of semi‑complex to complex CNC grinding equipment used in the manufacturing of Cutting tools, in accordance with blueprints, engineering specifications, and standard operating procedures. This role includes the setup and operation of equipment such as centerless grinders, cylindrical grinders, cut‑off machines, CNC tool grinders, measuring instruments, and other related manufacturing equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately enter quality, SPC, production, and other required data into designated company information systems.
  • Perform routine and primary maintenance on assigned equipment; assist the maintenance team with major repairs as required.
  • Develop, edit, and optimize programs for NC/CNC‑controlled grinding equipment.
  • Perform all phases of assigned operations in full compliance with company policies and all applicable state and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper housekeeping standards in all assigned work areas always.
  • Achieve established cycle time, productivity, and machine utilization targets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Wear all required PPE and strictly adhere to company safety rules.
  • Always support and promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with the ISO standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 2-3 Years’ Experience Working with CNC Machines in a Mechanical or Process Industry Preferred.
  • Strong Work Ethics.
  • Understanding workflow impact.
  • Strong commitment to quality and safety standards.
  • This position requires current authorization to work in the United States. Sandvik cannot provide employment-based visa sponsorship for this role, now or in the future.
  • This role is based on site in Westminster, SC.  Remote or international work arrangements are not available.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.

SHIFT:

  • This position is for 2nd Shift (3:00PM to 11:15PM)

PAY CLASSIFICATION:

  • W3 ($19.00 - $35.68)

Skills Required
