Department OverviewThe CNC Machine Shop at ZUK136 is a critical component of our manufacturing operations, specialising in the precise and efficient machining of complex parts essential to our advanced surveillance and security systems. Equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machinery, our department is dedicated to producing high-quality components that meet the stringent tolerances and specifications required for our market-leading products.
Our team of skilled CNC machinists and engineers work collaboratively to ensure the seamless production of parts, from initial programming to final inspection. Utilising cutting-edge technology and a commitment to continuous improvement, we are able to deliver consistent accuracy, speed, and reliability in every project we undertake.
Job Description

This role is onsite at our Sandy (Bedfordshire) offices, 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:


1. Machine Setup:

Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and programming as per specifications.

2. Programming:

Develop CNC programs using CAM software and/or G-code (preferably Fanuc) for machining operations.

3. Operation:

Operate CNC machines to produce parts within specified tolerances and quality standards.

4. Quality Control:

Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.

5. Troubleshooting:

Identify and troubleshoot issues with CNC machines, making adjustments as needed.

6. Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and tools.

7. Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of machine setups, tool changes, and production runs.

8. Safety:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.

9. Collaboration:

Work closely with engineering and production teams to achieve production goals.

10. Continuous Improvement:

Suggest and implement improvements in machining processes to enhance efficiency and quality.


Basic Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with a strong understanding of machining processes.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Keen attention to detail and precision in executing machining tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address issues during machine operation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.
  • Stamina to stand for extended periods during machine operation.
