Description
CNC Machinist will work on both CNC Mill and CNC Lathe work centers setting up and proving programs. The position is responsible for their assigned machine(s) from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials. The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating the machine effectively to ensure parts are being run efficiently and tolerances are to print. orders and replaces parts as needed for equipment repairs.
Essential Duties & Functions:
- Completes all duties and responsibilities in adherence with Tri Tool's core values.
- Operating CNC machining equipment (VTL, Mazak, BTH) to produce parts using blueprints provided with understanding of relation to GD&T.
- Loading tooling for jobs and measuring tool length offset, making tooling boxes for jobs.
- Inspect parts produced for accuracy, flaws, or areas of concern.
- Communicate problems with work holding and programming to supervisor and machine programmer.
- Communicate tooling needed with supervisor for upcoming jobs, design and produce fixturings for upcoming jobs.
- Load and unload parts and materials per job requirement.
- Blend and Deburr parts during cycle times
- Monitor tooling and adjust as needed
- Pro-actively monitor machine performance, trouble shoot errors or low performance output, monitor coolant and oil levels on machine and fill as needed
- Programming of Mazatrol, Fanuc, and/or G-code.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with State, Federal, and Company safety regulations.
- Effectively communicates with coworkers and managers to support efficient production.
- Performs other work in related duties as assigned to ensure a highly maintained and safe department.
- Work as part of the team to ensure productivity and cross train to other departments as needed.
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; experience or technical training related to manufacturing.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with full operational processes, including reading blueprints, operating measuring and inspection equipment, and utilizing lifting devices.
- Minimum 7 years of experience operating VTL, Mazak, and BTH machines.
- Minimum 7 years of experience programming and operating Fanuc and Mazatrol controls.
- Must have strong math abilities, blueprint comprehension and verbal/written communication.
- Must have a strong attention to detail with ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Must have the ability to maintain a neat and organized work are while maintaining safety, quality and being conscious of time to meet deadlines.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; manufacturing experience or technical training
- Minimum 7 years experience with full operational processes including reading blueprints and using measuring/inspection equipment
- Minimum 7 years experience operating VTL, Mazak, and BTH machines
- Minimum 7 years programming and operating Fanuc and Mazatrol controls
- Experience programming and/or running G-code
- Ability to interpret GD&T and blueprints
