As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you'll set up and operate CNC lathes to produce complex machined parts, read blueprints, inspect products, and maintain equipment.

As a CNC Machinist you will produce complex machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC Lathe Machines. 

We currently operate state-of-the-art:

  • Multi-axis Mazak Turning Centers

What you’ll do

  • Read blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut.
  • Select, positions, and secure work piece (chuck, collet, or vise). Change tools, adjust offsets and tool comps to maintain required part quality.
  • Inspect products during the machining operation to determine if parts meet print specifications. 
  • Observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
  • Maintain equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements.  Reporting need for machine repairs.
  • Understand and comply with company policy safety guidelines, quality systems requirements and housekeeping standards.

 

What you need to thrive in this role

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prior experience operating CNC Lathes (experience preferred in setting up and programming/editing programs)
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing with profile tolerancing preferred.
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to anticipate, think ahead and plan.
  • Ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills.
