As a CNC Turner at NTS Drachten, you are at the foundation of our production process. You work independently on our CNC lathes from Mikroturn Hembrug, Mori Seiki, and Emco, with Fanuc and Siemens controls. You set up your work yourself, program it yourself in TopSolid 7 or at the control, and measure it yourself. From start to finish, it's your work.

You turn compact, ultra-precise products from mostly round starting material, often no larger than what fits in the palm of your hand, with precision up to about 1 micron. No mass production, but one-offs and small series in high-quality and exotic materials such as titanium, molybdenum, niobium, platinum, stainless steel, and Stavax. It's the combination of tight tolerances and varying materials that makes it truly craftsmanship.

You work in a compact team of about four machinists on your own production floor, in two shifts. The lines are short, and the atmosphere is direct and down-to-earth. Together with engineering and preparation, you make new products feasible and look for the best way to machine them.

What you don't know yet, you'll learn here on the shop floor from your closest colleagues, at a pace that suits your experience. If you want to progress, you can develop into a programmer or machining specialist with us.

• Independently setting up, operating, and optimising our CNC lathes (Mikroturn Hembrug, Mori Seiki, and Emco);

• Programming independently in TopSolid 7 or at the Fanuc or Siemens control;

• Preparing fixtures and checking tools, products, and materials based on technical drawings and work instructions;

• Turning compact one-offs and small series from round material with precision up to about 1 micron;

• Monitoring the quality of your own work and measuring according to our customers' tight tolerances.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner who enjoys precision work and brings the following:

• A completed technical education at MBO level 3 or 4, preferably in Machining or Mechanical Engineering;

• Demonstrable experience with independently setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes;

• Experience with CAM programming, preferably TopSolid, and at the control (Fanuc or Siemens);

• Good command of the English language in speech and writing, for drawings, work instructions, and communication on the shop floor;

• Willingness to work in 2-shifts (6:00 to 14:30 and 14:15 to 23:00, Monday to Thursday; until 21:45 on Fridays).

• Salary from €3,100 to €4,200 gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications;
