Role Overview

The CMO SEAT Sourcing Manager, part of the Cross-BU Procurement (China, NA, SEAT, ANZ, ISC) organization will report into CMO SEAT Procurement Lead, Malaysia. This critical role is responsible to develop, negotiate and manage contractual terms with Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) for supply of our marketed products and future innovations.

In this role you will…

  • Direct and manage the CMO Procurement Supply Strategy across the assigned CMOs. Develop the cost management strategy for the delivery of the agreed cost reduction programs and associated targets.

  • Be accountable for developing and implementing strategies for advancing supply relationships with CMO that address the ambitions for cost, service, quality, lead time, working capital and innovation. Ensuring clear plans are in place with a robust governance and tracking system developed to support the same.

  • Liaise with Direct Procurement relating to the raw materials and packaging spend within the assigned CMO. Ensuring clear plans and measures are in place to drive value across all key areas of expenditure whilst ensuring that Production Procurement strategies support the delivery of cost management targets.

  • Implement standard work processes across the Procurement responsibilities in line with Global direction, aligned with the Integrated Sourcing Program and Contract Life Cycle Management processes.

  • Be a strong advocate of the CMO model across the organization, ensuring flawless communication processes with the CMO team.

  • Ensure robust contract compliance processes are in place and in use across assigned CMOs.

  • Assess, monitor and remediate CMO material management capabilities to ensure success in the ability to service business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the cost reduction targets across the assigned CMOs to support annual ambitions for YoY savings leveraging negotiations, value engineering initiatives, network optimization, process improvements, and negotiating material pricing.

  • Deploy Negotiation strategy standards across the assigned CMOs, building a strong ‘’should cost’’ foundation.

  • Drive standard work processes across the CMO Procurement responsibilities, fully embedding the Integrated Sourcing Program and Contract Lifecycle Management programs across the function.

  • Develop the need within CMO to deliver best in class cost management performance across assigned CMOs.

  • Own key strategic contracts and commercial relationship for the assigned CMOs

  • Own RFX process for the assigned CMOs/categories

  • Negotiate and conclude robust supply agreements in close coordination with the CMO senior management & legal.

  • Collaborate with other Functions and contract manufacturers in order to create innovative partnerships and solutions that deliver maximum value to Haleon CH business.

  • Implement a robust supplier account management structure and regular performance assessment for superior supplier performance

  • Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements and continuous improvements of quality relevant processes.

  • Build strong relationship with Direct Procurement to ensure DP drive value for the CMO Supply Chain. Agreed clear cost reduction deliverables with DP and provide current and future state volume projections to them to support their strategy going forward.

  • Ensure overall CMO Procurement Internal controls compliance for the assigned CMOs.

  • Ensure robust contract compliance systems and measures are in place.

Qualifications & Skills: 

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree 

Area of Specialisation: Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing

  • 3+ years of operational Procurement experience

  • Knowledge of Procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and others 

  • In-depth understanding of external environment and supplier relationship models 

  • Direct Procurement experience across a portfolio of materials and packaging is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of finance (cost benchmark, financial audit with key suppliers) and legal matters (contracting) 

  • Clear understanding of business value, business priorities, and potential implementation risks 

  • Significant experience working in a matrix (global/ regional) business environment 

  • Strong networking skills and a proven ability to build productive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and business partners 

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across multiple projects using project management skills 

  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communications, and influencing skills 

  • Ability to work in high pressure environment, often under tight deadlines 

  • Experience with risk management
