About the role:

The role of CMO Modern & E-Commerce Trade Manager Chile works with Diageo Marketing, Diageo Sales, Diageo Customer Marketing and our Distributors/Customers to identify the channel and category opportunities and guarantee winning at the moment of choice to step change category sales performance in modern trade channel, among others delivering:

- Strategic alignment: channel/category role and strategy to increase penetration.

- Alignment about ways of working: timetables, commercial annual planning, execution guidelines.

- Alignment and focus on key modern trade strategic priorities and action plans.

- Outstanding Channel, Customer, Shopper insights and tracking tools to drive findings back into the wider business and course accurate and action plan to drive depletion growth.

- The development of channel category initiatives and standardized guidelines on Commercial Execution Standards, to be delivered to the countries.
This position will evolve to play a key role in driving Digital marketing commercial expertise across CMO, Sales and key customers through development of a training plan. 

The key decisions

Accountable for leading channel strategy

The role will focus primarily on engaging our commercial teams and our distributors to moving from strategy to execution detailed.

Ensuring all developments being undertaken optimizes the commercial outcome, shopper/consumer & category/brand experience within cost requirements.

Influences commercial action planning to course accurate critical metric performance with fact based insights generated through execution data analysis.

Raising and recommending solutions to critical issues as well as bringing to life key opportunities within the channel

End to end function from Budget & activation planning to execution. 

Annual Planning: Build Specific Commercial Annual Planning Calendars and guidelines, with clear outcomes and KPI’s including investment planning.

Lead own A&P and T&E budget and is encouraged to adhere to all related policies, and to not exceed its assigned budget.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define and own Chile Modern & e-Commerce Trade channel strategies and performance.
  • Deliver ‘outstanding guidelines and tools’ that enable brilliant execution at scale to improve performance.
  • Encourages and energises and collaborate with commercial teams, leaders, distributors and customers to accelerate channels and categories growth to gain share of our brands with their customers. Understands the channel and category strategies finding common ground vision and objectives.
  • Deliver execution standards for modern trade channel (Incl. Minimum Execution Standards guidelines sign off).
  • Responsible for ensuring the outlet segmentation in key countries and ensure it is updated at least once per year to reflect market changes and business potentials.
  • Responsible to deliver monthly channel performance reports and analysis/insights to define when corrective actions are needed following them through to completion.
  • Supports capability development internally and with our partners.
  • Provide guide Customer Marketing support to Distributors and Commercial Planning & Activation teams, driving collaboration between countries in order to boost modern trade channel performance across Chile.
  • Deliver and analyse channel information and trends to identify relevant channel/customer/shopper insights to unlock growth opportunities.
  • Develop, test, implement and roll out key digital growth drivers in a compliant way.
  • Ensures full compliance with CARM, Diageo Code of Business Conduct, Digital policies, DMC and other Diageo policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
