Position Summary:

Responsible for the development, validation and maintaining of CMM programs while providing support to inspectors, engineers, and production personnel to ensure products meet customer specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create, revise CMM programs and CMM reports to reflect customer print specification requirements.
• Create set up and operational instruction to CMM programs for part/ machine specific.
• Provides technical assistance and training to Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality personnel.
• Prepares quality control plans and inspection plans.
• Defines inspection methods, selecting gauges appropriate for inspection activities.
• Analyzes and interprets CMM reports to determine adherence to customer prints, specifications.
• Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Quality Management System.
• Prepare detailed inspection report such as written descriptions of inspection results and statistical analysis reports.
• Serve as technical expert for GD&T and interpretation of AMSE Y14.5M.
• Responsible for daily and weekly maintenance of CMM machines.
• Provide support to Quality team with First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process or final inspection activities as needed.
• Participate in other Quality related activities such as Gage R&R, Process capability studies, PPAP, APQP.

• Oversee calibration personnel and department. Ensure compliance with QMS and create work instructions/procedures as required.
• Develop QC calc functionality and improve use of software.
• Explore and recommend new quality technologies, including scanning head use on CMM’s and Micro-Views.
• Assist with quality personnel training to improve department skill sets.
• Lead Continuous improvement efforts in the Quality department.

 Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• A minimum of 1-year CMM programming experience preferably PC-DMIS background.
• Due to contractual requirements, this position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree
• Experience in CNC machining
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485 and AS9100 preferred
• Proficient with PC-DMIS software, surface plate technology, shop math, and mechanical inspection instruments, and blueprints
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and verbal
• Proficient in data collection, analysis, and presentation
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with external and internal customers

 Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, continuous mental and visual attention is needed.  The ability to stand for a shift, sit, talk, and hear is frequently required.  Lifting to 40 pounds occasionally is required. Exposure to manufacturing areas where temperature may vary, and personal protective equipment is required.
