Job Responsibilities:

Testing and Inspection

  • Operate equipment efficiently without guidance including but not limited to: CMM, Microtome & slicer, Moisture analyzer, IV Meter/Melt Flow Analysis, OTR Tester, Indicator, Micrometer, Scales, Feeler gauge, Millimeter ruler, Height gauge, Go/no-go gauge, Vacuum sealer, Specific Gravity machine, Barcode reader, Ball impact fixture, Keyence static reader, Metal Detector verification, Nesting device.
  • Program CMM (Microvu & Mitutoyo), Vision System, and Universal Testers (Instron & Lloyd)
  • Operate Spectrodensitometer.
  • Read and understand applicable measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, calipers, etc.)
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, and work practices for conformance to specifications utilizing materials such as drawings, test data, standard operating procedures, and testing manuals. Be able to review data and verify if products are in spec.

Technical Analysis and Reporting

  • Read and understand Technical Data Sheets, Trial Protocols, Blueprints, etc.

Calibration and Maintenance

  • Repair and service measuring tools to ensure they are accurate and in calibration
  • Evaluate and advise if 3rd party resources are needed to service equipment.
  • Maintain Calibration Program and carry out equipment calibrations (internal and third party).
  • Coach/educate employees on, and correct issues with quality equipment.

Compliance and Standards

  • Assist in identifying and providing solutions to problems as the voice of the customer (communicate inspection results with key stakeholders and recommend necessary corrective actions).
  • Notify supervision, management and other personnel of products or personnel non-conformances such as GMP’s.
  • Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by Supervisor. 1. Maintain Neat, Clean, and Orderly (NCO) workstation and lab area, and complete assigned 5S cleaning/maintenance at end of each shift.
  • Maintain and communicate Calibration Reports.

Job Qualifications:

This position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience working in Quality Assurance or a related field in Manufacturing that provides the relevant experience. Minimum 6 months programming CMM. Experience in plastics, extrusion, printing, metrology and forming operations is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, along with experience in utilizing Microsoft Office Applications (Primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook). Preferred ASQ certification or similar.
