Job Description
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Minor Hotels team members always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
· Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive sustainability programs that align with the company's overall mission, including waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and responsible sourcing.
· Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international sustainability regulations and standards, such as Edge, LEED, Green Growth 2050, etc.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with hotel management, team members, suppliers, and local communities to build awareness and support for sustainability initiatives.
· Training and Education: Provide training and resources to hotel team members to promote sustainable practices within day-to-day operations.
· Performance Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to meet and exceed targets.
· Sustainability Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for future sustainability initiatives.
· Collaborate with Global Teams: Work closely with global sustainability teams to align strategies and share best practices.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability or hospitality management.
· In-depth knowledge of sustainability regulations and certifications applicable in the local market.
· Strong analytical, project management, and leadership skills.
· Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English and local languages.
· Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
