The Role

The Cloud (AWS) Solution Architect role is an integral team member who works with the various customer groups to support architectural activities related to cloud modernization activities. For this role, the candidate will work directly with the customer and team members to help the various customers achieve their objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Minimum eight-ten years of experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, and implementing a least privileged model of access in AWS
  • Deep understanding of Core Cloud Competencies (Virtualization, DNS, Access Control, Environment Management, etc.)
  • AWS cloud services like S3 File Gateway, AWS Datasync Direct Connect, Amazon Athena, S3, Amazon, SageMaker, Glue, Lambda, CloudFront, etc.
  • Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategic planning, design, development, and deployment of cloud applications and infrastructure.
  • Lead the integration of cloud-based systems to meet specific business requirements, ensuring a seamless end-to-end cloud deployment experience from concept to implementation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consult on cloud capabilities, continuously adapting new features, functions, and virtual environments.
  • Hands on experience using cloud services and tools to automate data workflows and streamline the data engineering process.
  • Set direction, define data patterns, establish customer domains and design with AWS tools.
  • Cloud architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures to meet our growing organization's business requirements. This role will collaborate with cross-functional executive, data science, and software engineering teams to understand technical needs and provide strategic solutions using the portfolio of available AWS services.
  • Cost management: Monitor and manage cloud costs, including the development of reports and optimization playbooks to ensure cost efficiency and provide recommendations for optimizing resource allocation.
  • Security and compliance: Implement and enforce security controls and best practices in accordance with industry standards such as SOC 2, CIS, and organizational policies.
  • Leverage AWS to enhance the scalability, reliability, and flexibility of IT infrastructure.
  • In-depth and broad experience with several AWS cloud services like S3 File Gateway, AWS Datasync, AWS Direct Connect, Amazon Athena, S3, Amazon SageMaker, Glue, Lambda, CloudFront, etc.
  • Establish system information requirements using analysis of the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise- wide or large-scale information systems.
  • Design and document architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
  • Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
  • May involve staff management responsibility.
  • Develop, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working in an Agile workflow environment
  • Experience with enhancing and modernizing legacy systems
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to demo and discuss upcoming enhancements and platform changes

  • In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S

  • The salary for this position is $100,000 - $145,000 annually
