Job Description:
As a Cloud Center of Excellence (Cloud CoE) Solution Architect Lead, you will play a critical role in driving the cloud adoption strategy and architecture for the organization. You will work in a team of cloud solution architects and oversee the development and implementation of Mars’ platforms and cloud-based systems in use every day. The Cloud CoE - Client Solutions team works closely with digital platforms, platform engineering, enterprise architects, operations teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to develop the necessary services and landing zones for unique projects that will be deployed to the Mars cloud.
What are we looking for?Education:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is typically required. Some organizations may accept equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 7+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or a similar role with a focus on cloud architecture and design.
- Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership, principal architect, or technical reference capacity, mentoring other architects and driving architectural decisions within a group.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions, considering scalability, performance, security, cost optimization, and operational excellence requirements.
- Strong knowledge of software development principles, methodologies, and technologies.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, define solution architecture, and provide technical guidance.
- Proven, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its services, including architecting enterprise solutions using an Infrastructure-as-Code approach (specifically Terraform) and version control (Git).
- Proven application of cloud security principles and best practices in solution design, including data protection, identity management, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge and experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Deep knowledge of system integration, data modeling, and application architecture.
- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, etc.) and knowledge of their respective services are a plus.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF or similar frameworks.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and advisory skills, with the ability to translate complex cloud architecture into clear business value for both highly technical teams and senior business leaders.
- Work in a team of cloud architects, providing technical guidance, architectural direction, and technical leadership.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, ensuring the team's continuous growth and development.
- Lead Technical Design Authority sessions (Cloud ARB) to review and decide on new cloud architectures proposed by Mars’ Digital Platform Development team.
- Ensure scalability and elasticity standards are integrated and enforced on designs and deliveries.
- Ensure availability and fault tolerance requirements are met and are appropriate for the specific needs of the product teams’ applications.
- Ensure all documented security and compliance controls are adopted and followed by technology owners.
- Ensure prioritization of the enablement architects' backlog meets the business needs of the organization.
- Participate in various forums such as the Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) and Communities of Practice (COPs) as needed.
