Shape the future of the Akamai Connected Cloud
You will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on Akamai's growing cloud offerings requiring a combination of system design, programming, and debugging skills. With your expertise, you will help design and build Akamai's next-generation Cloud Load Balancer. You must have a passion for managing projects, get things done quickly, and get them done right.
In this role you will be:
- Contributing to the development of the Cloud Load Balancer and other cloud-networking technologies.
- Creating and integrating cloud-networking technologies and architectures
- Developing best practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
- Designing, implementing, reviewing, documenting, and testing high-quality code in close collaboration with your team.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Be able to act as a technical compass for the team, translating ambiguous business requirements into clear, scalable architectural designs.
- Have strong proficiency in Python, with the adaptability to learn and work in other languages as needed (particularly C++).
- Demonstrate understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
- Be a mentor and coach junior to mid-level engineers, accelerating their technical and professional growth
- Be experienced in technical design, product specifications reviews, projects, and backlog planning
