Analog Devices Inc. is building cloud services and is seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer – Cloud Native Applications with backend development expertise to join the Software and Security Group (SSG), preferably based in Limerick, Ireland. The Software Product Experience team in SSG is working to engineer every layer of the customer experience stack from integration with our device hardware and firmware, through APIs, to security of the cloud infrastructure and applications. As an active collaborator in this team, you will be working on developing the cloud services, customer features, and web applications for Analog Devices cloud-based software products and solutions.

Beyond building solutions, this role is expected to be an active contributor to projects they work on and must be able to write, document, and test production code that impacts all Analog Devices customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Adoption and Usage of Cloud Technologies:

  • Contribute to the adoption and effective use of cloud frameworks, edge development tools, and platforms.
  • Utilize and suggest appropriate cloud technologies.
  • Participate in evaluating scalability and production readiness for internal and external solutions.

Implementation and Integration of Cloud Projects:

  • Assist in integrating both externally acquired and internally developed technologies with our cloud platform.
  • Provide implementation and contribute to guidance for internally developed projects.
  • Contribute to developing interface layers and framework components that connect the cloud software stack.

Architecture and Design Support:

  • Collaborate on the realization of overall architecture efforts for the production cloud software stack.
  • Support the development of PaaS and SaaS options and go-to-market strategies for cloud solutions.
  • Stay updated on market trends in cloud technologies and provide input to inform the cloud solution architecture.


The work involves the application of technical skills in many areas. A willingness to explore new ideas and generally tinker/experiment with software (and hardware) is a must. We are a team of generalists who understand the big picture and are detail-oriented when necessary. Team members understand how to lead and be led by each other every day.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 years of professional experience developing cloud-native solutions with programming languages such as Node.js, JavaScript, Typescript, Python, Go, or C#.
  • Professional experience building and testing customer-facing, scalable systems.
  • A proven track record of collaboration and working with cross-organizational teams.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

SKILLS

  • Technical knowledge about connected systems, networking, infrastructure, cloud computing, and system integration.
  • Demonstrable experience with continuous integration/deployment pipeline; Git, GitHub Actions, Jira, unit testing, etc.
  • Experience with cloud providers and services; AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

WAYS TO STAND OUT

  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate Certification (or similar).
  • Experience building cloud services and solutions using AWS Serverless services; DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
  • Experience defining and representing cloud solutions as Infrastructure as Code (IaC); CloudFormation, CDK.
