The Role
Operate and continuously evolve Swisscom’s cloud-native Mobile Core platform. Design Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code solutions; automate platform operations; troubleshoot complex issues; improve resilience, scalability, and efficiency; and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors. The role requires Linux platform experience, advanced Kubernetes knowledge, networking fundamentals, and programming or automation skills in Python or Golang.

We operate and evolve business-critical Mobile Core platforms for Swisscom. We are driving the transformation from traditional infrastructure and operational models towards modern cloud-native platforms based on Kubernetes, GitOps and automation.


As a DevOps Engineer, you take ownership of platform operations while actively contributing to the evolution of our services. Together with your team, you build innovative solutions, automate processes and ensure high service quality, reliability and scalability.




  • Operate, automate and continuously evolve the Swisscom Mobile Core platform.
  • Design and implement modern platform solutions based on Kubernetes, GitOps and CI/CD.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, implement sustainable solutions and enhance system resilience.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement to increase efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
  • Foster strong collaboration between internal cross-functional teams and external vendors



Skills


  • Degree in Computer Science (University, ETH, University of Applied Sciences) or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience operating in Linux-based platforms and services
  • Advanced proficiency in Kubernetes, holding a CKA is an advantage.
  • Core understanding of networking concepts (IP, DNS, routing and switching)
  • Ability to design declarative automation based on IaC tools (such as Ansible) and custom software solution (such as python, golang)
  • Strong sense of ownership and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and sharing knowledge within and across teams
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a passion for continuous learning and improvement
