#WeAreCrowdStrike and our mission is to stop breaches. As a global leader in cybersecurity, our team changed the game. Since our inception, our market leading cloud-native platform has offered unparalleled protection against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. We're looking for people with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to the customer to join us in shaping the future of cybersecurity. Consistently recognized as a top workplace, CrowdStrike is committed to cultivating an inclusive, remote-first culture that offers people the autonomy and flexibility to balance the needs of work and life while taking their career to the next level. Interested in working for a company that sets the standard and leads with integrity? Join us on a mission that matters - one team, one fight.
About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking an engineer experienced in designing and building cloud infrastructure. We believe in the importance of showing our customers how our Platform stops breaches during the sales cycle and the global Technical Sales team relies heavily on our lab environments to do this. This opportunity is ideal for an individual with a deep technical understanding of cloud computing providers including AWS and Google Cloud.
As a Cloud Lab Engineer for CrowdStrike's Technical Sales labs you will work daily with our Technical Sales Lab Architect and peer lab engineers in designing and implementing cloud-based labs that will be used by over 1000 CrowdStrikers worldwide and 10,000s of CrowdStrike partners and prospects. These labs are critical to the day-to-day operations of the Sales and Technical Sales organization. We believe in working fast and doing things that are innovative and novel in the industry. Here at CrowdStrike we have a culture that constantly strives to produce the best in the industry. We innovate and iterate quickly. Our labs team is no exception. We are building a lab platform that will be the best in the industry. To do this we need the best engineers in the industry that are willing to throw the box away and imagine how we can build a platform that will support our technical teams and CrowdStrike sales into the next decade. This is a high-visibility role that will work closely with our CTO, InfoSec, enablement, and product teams to develop the foundational labs that enable our SEs and our partners to learn, pitch, and demonstrate the capabilities of the CrowdStrike Falcon® platform. It's rare to find a role like this where you will be working with a team to build an enterprise-grade environment from scratch. If building new things excites you. If you enjoy working collaboratively with top engineers in the industry. If you are passionate about building systems that the users/customers delight to use. If you want to have wide exposure to senior leadership within one of the hottest companies in the tech industry, then then this role is for you.
This is an individual contributor role that reports directly to the global Director of Technical Sales Strategy and Operations.
What You'll Do:

  • You will: document, design, develop, and implement cloud computing architecture leveraging IaC tooling to support the global mission of the Technical Sales team to demonstrate the power of the CrowdStrike Falcon® platform.
  • Design and deploy Enterprise-grade architecture using best practices for reliability, availability, and cost-optimization.
  • Maintain permanent lab infrastructure and ephemeral lab templates.
  • Work closely with our InfoSec team to ensure the ongoing security of our lab environments.
  • Partner closely with our CTO, integration engineering, product engineering, and other teams to build permanent and ephemeral lab infrastructure that meets broad or targeted objectives in supporting our technical users in engaging with the CrowdStrike Falcon® platform.
  • Participate in a cross-functional Agile team of engineers to accomplish project objectives.
  • Estimate costs of implementing and running an infrastructure design and can communicate this to our Lab Architect.

What You'll Need:

  • You have 7+ years previous hands-on experience designing and administering cloud computing environments from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform with a preference on AWS and GCP.
  • You understand how to optimize costs for cloud computing environments and can speak to your direct experience in estimating and managing the monthly costs of a cloud infrastructure environment.
  • You have experience working with open-source software and possess a strong background in cloud virtual machines.
  • You're proficient in using automation/IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and scripting in Bash and Python to create and configure cloud infrastructure and can speak to how you've used these tools in your 7+ years hands-on experience.
  • You're proficient at systems administration tasks in Windows (desktop and server), Linux, and MacOS.
  • You work well in cross-functional teams and excel in bringing people together to accomplish an objective.
  • You enjoy working independently with relentless dedication to communication and team success.
  • Comfortable presenting your work to global audiences including business leaders as part of regular updates on the capabilities of the labs.
  • You are a certified AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS SysOps Administrator or possess equivalent certifications and/or work experience.
  • You love building solutions and architectures that will meet current needs and scale elegantly.
  • You thrive in an Agile and high paced environment with a focus on fast iteration and quick revisions.
