About the Role:Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Cloud Infrastructure within the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure to cloud engineering, system operations and Infrastructure-as-code automations across multi-cloud hybrid environment. This position will work closely in IT with experienced engineers to support operational reliability, streamlining deployment workflows, and contribute to emerging ML/HPC initiatives. Intern will gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges such as scalability, cost optimization, environment consistency, and systems performance.This position offers a unique chance to apply computer science fundamentals to impactful biotechnology use cases while learning industry-ready IT infrastructure skills.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):- Support cloud configuration and security reviews, ensuring environments align with internal best practices for identity management, tagging, and resource governance
- Help refine Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates or configuration files to improve consistency across environments
- Identify opportunities to implement containerize and/or serverless workflow
- Create or enhance cloud health-check to identify performance improvement and cost usage dashboards to visualize consumption trends to identify optimization opportunities
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, including reviewing failed pipeline runs and proposing incremental improvements
- Assist in setting up or validating compute environments used for ML/HPC training
- Interacting with multiple areas within the company
- Collaborating with a mentor team of cross-functional team members as well as the other interns in the class
- Completing a special project and presenting the recommendations to senior management upon completion
- Pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required
- Experience programming in any object-oriented language is a plus
- Experience and/or cloud practitioner cert with cloud provider like AWS, Azure is desirable
- Experience with Linux/UNIX platform is a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively and be a team player
- Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more
- Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program
