Role Overview:

We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on FinOps Staff Engineer to spearhead our cloud cost optimization initiatives across multi-cloud environments. This role blends Cloud Engineering, Finance, and Operations to ensure our cloud investments deliver maximum value. You’ll work closely with Cloud Engineering, Finance, and Product teams to build scalable FinOps practices and drive cost transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

· Lead the design and implementation of FinOps frameworks across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments

· Develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards, reports, and forecasting models

· Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize cloud architecture for cost-efficiency

· Establish tagging strategies, budget controls, and anomaly detection systems

· Partner with Finance to align cloud spend with business goals and financial planning

· Drive adoption of FinOps culture through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement

· Evaluate and integrate third-party FinOps tools and platforms

· Monitor usage trends and recommend rightsizing, reserved instances, and savings plans

· Provide executive-level insights and recommendations on cloud financial performance

Skills & Requirements:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field

· 8+ years of experience in Cloud engineering, FinOps, or DevOps roles

· Deep understanding of cloud billing models, pricing structures, and cost optimization strategies

· Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing, and FinOps tools like CloudHealth, etc.

· Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

· FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification is a plus

· End-to-end understanding of how cloud-based web applications work and their architecture

· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production

· Experience with automation tools like Terraform or Ansible
