We are looking for a skilled OpenStack Engineer with strong Linux administration and Ansible automation experience to manage and support OpenStack private cloud infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for OpenStack operations, Linux system management, automation, and providing production support.
Key Responsibilities:
Redhat OpenStack Administration• Install, configure, and manage OpenStack environments• Support OpenStack components including:
o Nova (Compute)
o Neutron (Networking)
o Cinder (Block Storage)
o Glance (Image Service)
o Keystone (Identity)
o Horizon (Dashboard)• Manage controller and compute nodes• Support VM provisioning, migration, and lifecycle management• Troubleshoot OpenStack service and VM-related issues• Perform OpenStack patching, upgrades, and maintenance
Linux System Administration• Administer Linux servers (RHEL / CentOS / Oracle Linux / Ubuntu)• Perform OS installation, patching, and upgrades• Manage users, services, networking, and storage• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues• Implement system security and hardening
Automation Using Ansible• Develop and execute Ansible playbooks• Automate system configuration, patching, and deployment tasks• Automate OpenStack operational activities• Maintain Ansible roles and automation scripts
Cloud & Virtualization Support• Support KVM hypervisor environments• Manage virtual machines and compute resources• Support storage and networking configuration• Assist in cloud infrastructure operations
Incident & Problem Management• Provide L2/L3 production support• Troubleshoot infrastructure, OpenStack, and Linux issues• Participate in incident management and resolution• Support root cause analysis (RCA)
Other requirement
Monitoring & Maintenance• Monitor system and cloud platform health• Support monitoring tools such as:
o Prometheus
o Nagios
o OpenNMS
o Grafana• Perform routine maintenance and health checks
Documentation• Maintain technical documentation and SOPs• Create operational runbooks• Document issues, fixes, and procedures
Mandatory Skills:
OpenStack• Hands-on experience with OpenStack administration• Understanding of OpenStack components and architecture
Linux• Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu)• Strong troubleshooting skills
Automation• Hands-on experience with Ansible automation• Experience writing Ansible playbooks
Virtualization• Experience with KVM hypervisor
Scripting• Shell scripting (Bash)
