Job Description

The Cloud Engineer plays a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. This position requires a blend of technical skills and hands-on experience in cloud operations within dynamic environments. You will be responsible for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-based systems, ensuring their reliability and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure. 

Cloud Infrastructure Management 

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure. 

• Monitor and optimize cloud systems to ensure optimal performance and availability. 

• Deploy cloud-based applications and services. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure. 

Automation and Scripting 

• Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and processes. 

• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement automation solutions. 

• Ensure that automation scripts are well-documented and maintainable. 

Security and Compliance 

• Implement security best practices for cloud environments. 

• Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities. 

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. 

Collaboration and Support 

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support cloud initiatives. 

• Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users. 

• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for cloud systems. v

Qualifications

Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: 

• Technical Skills – Strong understanding of cloud technologies and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 

• Problem-Solving – Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively. 

• Communication – Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively. 

• Teamwork – Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 

• Adaptability – Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting to changing priorities. 

Minimum qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• 2-5 years of experience in cloud operations or a related field. 

• Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 

• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). 

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. 

Preferred qualifications: 

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). 

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 

• Understanding of networking concepts. 

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
