What You'll Do
- Work in a dynamic, agile, team environment designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining a robust cloud architecture to development teams
- Participate in design decisions, including new technology research and prototyping
- Collaborate closely with other AWS engineers and architects, cloud engineers, support teams and other stakeholders
- Promote great Kubernetes and AWS platform design and quality
- Innovate new ideas to evolve our applications and processes
- Continuously analyzing and evaluating our systems, products and process for potential improvements
- Communicating across development teams to understand pain points and places where improvements can be beneficial
- Educating business stakeholders and product development teams on the proper use of cloud tools and services
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Experience with AWS product offerings (e.g. EC2, VPCs, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, etc.)
- Experience with Kubernetes or managed Kubernetes (AWS EKS a plus)
- Experience with the AWS Console, CLI and SDK
- Experience with Terraform, CDK or CloudFormation
- Experience migrating software applications to AWS
- Familiarity with Traefik, gloo or Ambassador (Envoy is a plus) including general networking concepts
- Proficiency with at least one technology language like Java, Javascript, NodeJS, Golang or Python.
- Proficient in the use of AI-based dev tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
- Have a broad set of DevSecOps technology skills
- Knowledge of security and performance best practices for cloud architectures
- Operational experience - ready to own the uptime and quality of systems
- Experience in building and maintaining DR architectures
- Documentation and teaching mindset - educate others!
- Hands-on experience building self-service cloud platforms and architecture
- Advanced experience in troubleshooting techniques
- Be a firm believer in “automate everything”
- Experience operating in an Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Istio-based service mesh
- Familiarity with AI-based autoscaling solutions like cast.ai (or Karpenter)
- Familiarity with operating agentic platforms such as agentregistry, agentgateway and kagent (or equivalents)
- Familiarity in AIOps for Kubernetes clusters
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana
- Cloud development experience leveraging AWS products such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS, etc.
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines leveraging a tool such as Jenkins or GitLab
