Position Summary:
The Cloud Engineer III will be part of the platform engineering team responsible for the management, optimization and security of our platform infrastructure. This role will mentor junior team members and help lead small projects to enhance the reliability, scalability and security of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize platform infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud resources.
- Ensure the availability and reliability of platform services.
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of platform components and services.
- Identify and resolve platform-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in incident response and problem-solving efforts.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline platform operations and maintenance.
- Contribute to automation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reliability.
- Implement and maintain platform security measures and best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to platform configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, development, and IT support teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
Skills and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of professional experience in platform engineering, including cloud services and infrastructure management.
- Strong knowledge of platform security and best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft/Azure SQL Server.
- Experience with Kubernetes Containerization
- Experience with deploying, managing, logging, and monitoring of applications/services using Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in automation, scripting, and deployment tools.
- Hands-on experience in managing cloud environments in a B2B/B2C SaaS context.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong knowledge of containers, container orchestration, and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and provide feedback of possible areas for improvement within developed services.
