About this opportunity:
We are looking for a Junior Cloud Engineer to join our cloud platform team that maintains Ericsson's AWS multi-account ecosystem. The team works closely with developers, platform specialists, and senior cloud engineers to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant AWS environments supporting a broad set of engineering and product organizations. You'll be joining a group that values collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement-an ideal place for someone early in their cloud career.
In this role, you will help manage AWS accounts and environments across development, staging, and production. You will work with core AWS services, support onboarding of new accounts, apply governance guardrails, and troubleshoot common cloud issues for internal teams. While foundational AWS and scripting skills are essential, you will have the opportunity to grow into more advanced areas such as serverless design, Infrastructure-as-Code, hybrid connectivity, cost optimization, IAM patterns, and CI/CD automation-all of which can be learned within the team environment.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, improving processes through automation, and contributing to a secure, well-run cloud ecosystem. You will thrive here if you like making cloud environments more efficient, reliable, and intuitive for others to use, especially in an Agile setting.
Your impact will be visible through smooth account onboarding, fewer cost anomalies, helpful automations that reduce manual work, faster support resolution, and improved adherence to governance policies. Over time, you will take on more complex engineering tasks, participate in platform improvements, and gradually step into more advanced responsibilities.
As you progress, this role opens clear pathways toward Senior Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect, and broader opportunities across Technology Foundation
What you will do:
- Support setup and management of AWS multi-account environments
- Configure environments across dev/stage/prod
- Use AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, etc.) to support workloads
- Assist with onboarding new accounts and applying guardrails
- Troubleshoot basic account and platform issues for internal teams
- Implement security controls including SCP/RCP guardrails
- Monitor AWS costs and identify anomalies
- Automate routine operations using Python and AI-assisted tooling
- Support serverless workloads (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB)
- Gain experience with IaC using AWS CloudFormation
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps
- Work within Agile practices and team ceremonies
Required Skills
- Knowledge of AWS core services (managing landing zone)
- Basic understanding of AWS multi-account structures
- Scripting skills (Python preferred)
- Understanding of cloud security fundamentals
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
- Experience working in Agile environments
Preferred Certifications
At least two of the following:
- AWS Solutions Architect - Associate
- AWS SysOps Administrator - Associate
- AWS Developer - Associate
