Cloud Platform Engineering is the team that designs, develops and manages AWS based infrastructure and services including disaster recovery. As a key member of our Cloud Platform team, you will implement and maintain cloud native platform capabilities related to disaster recovery and backups that support the delivery and operation of our AWS based technology in the event of a disaster.

Your Responsibilities
- Disaster Recovery Test Execution.
- Creating tools and capabilities for developers related to Disaster Recovery
- Assisting with creating the Disaster Recovery Plan
- Define and create the Disaster and Operational Recovery documentation.
- Evaluate and administer new tools, technologies and practices related to Disaster Recovery
- Deliver Infrastructure as Code for all Disaster Recovery toolsets
- Defining, maintaining and monitoring backups and backup policies
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in IT Infrastructure engineering, software development or equivalent technical fields.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in AWS and Site Reliability Engineering
- Proficient in one or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby or Groovy)
- Proficient in Cloud Formation or Terraform preferred
- Proficient in monitoring tools such as OpenSearch, CloudWatch or Prometheus
- Prior experience with AWS DRS and/or ARPIO would be preferred
- Demonstrates key competencies to include Action Oriented, Communicates Effectively, Collaborates
Your Team
This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Director of Cloud Account Management. You will have 2 peer teammate(s) and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Disaster Recovery Engineer 3, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, AZ. In October 2021, Choice opened a newly constructed world class technology center.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000 annually.
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
