Our Advanced Analytical and Data Sciences organization is growing to support the entire Lilly enterprise, from Discovery to Development to Manufacturing and Commercialization of our medicines. Through the Lilly Marketplace and the Analytics Workbench, the Enterprise Data Office provides a user experience to provide capabilities to store, catalog, find, and access Lilly data across the entire organization. These innovative solutions help advance our goal of data democratization at Lilly, unlocking our data for shared approved use. We connect data producers with data consumers and provide AWS backend analytic tools through Enterprise capabilities. In this role, you will help grow and enhance the capabilities we provide for through these applications focusing on a positive user experience leveraging new technologies to advance user output.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with front-end and application teams to create a seamless experience for the user community
  • Develop solutions to connect users to AWS supported services and tools like SageMaker, RStudio, and others
  • Ensure the security of the platforms that enable the user experience
  • Help drive the CI/CD pipeline for deployment of new features
  • Drive formal testing and documentation updates of the solutions to meet Lilly quality requirements
  • Participate in regular SAFe Agile framework team ceremonies

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands on experience in AWS
  • Proven ability to coach and lead a team of junior developers
  • Experience with statistical computer languages such as R, Python
  • Experience in AWS ML Services including Sagemaker, quicksight, Elasticsearch, autipilot 
  • Knowledge of MLOps 
  • Experience with Jira and GitHub 
  • Experience creating data sets using machine learning algorithms. 
  • AWS Cloud formation knowledge (Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Testing)
  • Familiar with key AWS services, such as IAM, Lambda, and Step Functions.
    • Python preferred for Lambda development
  • Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables
  • Comfortable using GitHub and modern JS programming language(s)
  • Ability to analyze, design, and implement components by applying best practices and coding standards
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and attention to detail
  • Experience working with external designers
  • Experience working with API architecture
  • Experience building out automated testing structures
  • Experience building event driven automation solutions
  • Experience designing systems following the principle of least privilege
  • Knowledge of analytics and machine learning lifecycles is beneficial

Additional Information:

  • Strong Commitment to the Principles of Good Software Design
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile software development, project management methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with QuickSight, SageMaker, Elastic Search 
  • Knowledge with Natural Language Processing/Text Mining is a plus 
  • Understanding of Cloud / Hybrid data architecture concepts
  • Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills
  • Ability to analyze, design, and implement components by applying best practices and coding standards
  • Strong Commitment and Willingness to Learn
